Slewfoot 6.0

Ok folks...heres the deal. I have an 81 Scottsdale with a carbed, cammed, lt 6.0...4l80e with.a 3200 stall comming in soon. My uncle just gave me one of his turbos to put on the truck. Im not sure of the brand or size, but i know its off a semi truck..either a peterbuil or kenworth if im not mistakin. I plan on mounting it in the bed, somewhat of a rear mount system, and im gonna run a seperate oil pump and tank for its oiling needs. I was looking at maybe using a turbonetics RaceGate. What else to i need? I kno i need piping and clamps and a boost controller. I dont plan on running an intercooler as of now but i may. Im only going to run about 8-10lbs of boost...maybe 12 at most...i have a wideband so that should help on the tuning issues...but mainly im wondering if a blowthrough style carb is mandatory...do i need a wastegate and blow off valve??? Any help would be highly appreciated
