Default question for the rear mount turbo guys

Just wanted to know what you guys are doing to support your turbo/turbos? Can I just use 1/4" steel rods, and weld it from the frame to the hot side piping? If you can post pics, that would be great.

Hey black. I solid mounted my turbo to my bed with 1/4" steel. If you solid mount it you might want to put a flex pipe running to each of your turbos unless you have sold engine mounts then you'll be ok.

I am going to be running flexpipes just to be on the safe side. My motor mounts are Current's poly mounts.

Default my rear mount

I just finished mine, shoot me a pm for lots of pics, I used stock SS manifolds then made my own y pipe then a flex joint right before the rear axle. Then went over the axle and mounted the turbo. To hold the turbo up I made a bracket out of 1/8 steel in the shape of an L with two holes. the "L" bracket bolts from the compressor side of the turbo. Because the compressor housing has i believe 8 bolts that you can loosen to clock the turbo i removed two to put my bracket thru then put the two bolts back in. The other part of the bracket lays over the pan hard bar and holds the turbo up and doesnt move. Havent had any issues. Hope I didnt confuse you. The turbo wasnt moving I just wanted to do it as insurance

i was wondering about this! anyone have any pics of their rear mount supported? i was wondering if a internal wastegate actuator mount bolted on the housing and then use that as a mounting bracket to what ever to suppor the turbo.
