Little update one the build. Finally got to work on the car some. W2A intercooler system (14 gals), fuel system, oil cooling system, inner fender wells and other misc crap not needed removed from the car. Everything added up (including water) to 244lbs. I'm also going to remove the factory back seat, passenger seat, and all the factory insulation and carpet (guessing this will be another 60 to 80lbs). So the weight reduction should help this pig a little.

The engine is now in the car. I have right at 3" clearance from the intake to hood. Also had to change plans a little on position of the turbo.

The turbo is in place now, just dummying up some stuff in this picture (ignore the mess).

There were also some goodies delivered as well. The PTC converter, GZ motorsports LsX mandrel, oil pan & diaper, and the 500lb Moran injectors all showed up.

Hopefully the fuel pump, pulley, bracket get here in the next couple days. Updates to come.

I think it's just the angle of that pic. The bottom tube if actually my cross over tube (2.5") from the driver's side. The top tube is actually the flipped manifold bolted to the head.

Check out post #13 in the below thread for some better pics.

Cool

Lol. Thanks guys. Got alilttle bit done this weekend. Fuel cell is now fabbed, core support chopped up and the fuel pump/pulley/bracket came in. So next weekend should be a productive one as I believe we have 99.9% of all the parts to complete the build. Updates and pics to come.

Couple of pics from the weekend. First had to make room for the turbo. you can see the clean spot on the frame rail for the T6 support.

Hard mount T6 support for turbo done and turbo in place (just fits).

Kind of concerned about tire life dumping the DP down in front of the tire so might drill the fender and exit it straight out the fender. Still up in the are on that still.

FWIW, I have a friend with a TT C5, and both his WG's dump into the fenderwell in a similar fashion, no issues with tire wear on the street

You may be seeing a little more EGT than he has though....

You are using solid engine mounts, right? If not, making a hard support for the turbo might not be a good idea. Awesome project

I highly recommend you not direct anything, that could ever have oil come out of it, at your tires. Jesus if I only knew how many cars have committed wall suicide because of that.

Yes, solid motor mounts and a mid plate. I might make up some front smaller motor plates to stiff it all up some more after or during the fabbing up of the Alt and fuel pump mounts. Def want this a solid as possible to limit flex when turned up.

This was also in my concerns as well. Fender exit is looking better the more I think about it.
