^^^ exactly what I'm thinking. The t6 is cheaper and you have all the room in the world. Just brace it good. i would do 5" mild like stated earlier but a 4" dp won't hurt it.

change of subject....but with that intake, will it be able to fit under the cowl/hood without cutting everything up? I've seen one or 2 ppl running it with an fbody, and they had to rig it to make it fit...plus, i thought you had to get rid of the wipers which would take away from this being a daily. I like everything about the build so far, can't wait to see how everything pulls together

I suppose this is a good segway into today's update.

Yes you have to do some cutting.

I pulled wipers and cut the cowl today. Intake should be waiting for me when I get home from school tomorrow. I will also be cutting a hole in my hood.

As far as wipers, a lot of people get away with Rain-X, which I will have as a back-up plan.

But I am actually working on a setup to retain the drivers side wiper, should be pretty slick.

I have very little self control... Im sure Ill end up trying to kill my rods.

That is pretty good news...

Idk but I think the S475 is a better option since I have the room.

I just need to make a decision between the T4 and T6 flange...

Well the intake showed up, mounting flange was damaged during shipping New one is on its way. But damn this thing is big.

wont even fit under the windshield!!! by at least an inch... ???

Hood trimming will be more extensive than I thought... getting a little worried.

Lets not go there, this is just my daily. I am going to do what I can to leave the windshield alone.

I really hope that isn't necessary.

Well this daily driver build is getting out of hand and fast.

I am having a hard time deciding the better route. Lower the engine, or make room where its at...

Lower - Front/mid plate setup..

Make room - lexan windshield...

If I lower the engine, I am messing with driveline angles... :/

Or a Vic jr., stock intake, super Vic. Etc. if its a DD then I see no need with your setup to hack the car up.

You are right, the pro-flo does fit under a stock cowl.. but anybody that knows me, knows taking the easy way is never of interest to me.

I have halfed the interference so far, and will finish it tomorrow.

why do most people go with the holley over the edelbrock? they perform almost identical dont they? and the edelbrock is $100 cheaper and i think it looks just as good.

I started by letting the k-member drop down 3/4" on the bolts. and drew some lines as an initial guide. Then I bolted it back up in place.

These are my tools.

I used the right angle grinder to remove any metal that was in my way.
The dremel was used to remove glass, while a friend sprayed water and air to keep it cool.

Then the 3M air sander is used to clean up the edge when I am done.

I kept test fitting by setting the base in place and check how far back I could set the upper plenum. It started around 5", when I stopped tonight I had another 1.5" to go.

I'm curious to why your having to cut the front glass, I was looking into this intake a lot and havent seen anyone have to cut into the glass.its it because of the k member your using? I was just looking at stangkilr's 02 build and he had around .25 clearance between the glass and top of intake after cutting the sheet metal out. After seeing what your having to go through makes me want to do a stock style intake

I think everybody that has used this intake in an f-body before was using the LS3 style. I have the cathedral port version, which apparently is significantly taller.

I am on stock k-member with spohn solid engine mounts. FTR
