I dont know what some of you are using for transmissions. But I'm backing my 5.3 with a th400. I did a search and didnt really find a clear enough answer. So what kind of stall converter do I need to buy? One for a th400 or are there special ones I have to buy made for a LSx/th400?

Ok another question for the 4l80e guys, planning on making around 700-750whp, what flexplate are you guys using? Is it worth stepping up to the SFI plate or can I stick with the stock replacement (going in a 5.3 so I got to swap anyway)

Also on this note, whilst investigating the stock replacement 4l80e flexplate, I found listings for ones "with spacer" and "without spacer"...

My buddy's 5.3 has no spacer, obviously, but how do I distinguish which stock version he will need to mate his 4l80e with stock converter to his 5.3?
Are the rears of the crankshaft identical, in which case if you would simply go with the 4l80e flexplate without spacer?

Maybe we'll just try them both when the time comes and report back... they're both readily available.

Doing research on this site
http://www.performancetrucks.net/for...-shaft-523491/
says that this flex plate will work, and its a hell of a price

I had to use a 6.0 flexplate with a spacer on my 5.3. If it has the short crank, it will need the spacer to work with a 4L80e. I'm not sure any of the 5.3s ever had the long crank.

The spacer is a separate piece from the flexplate all together. I'm not sure if the flexplates made to use with or without the spacer are any different.

The one from ATP was the stock replacement that I was looking at, my question though is would you feel safe running in behind 750whp?

I would love to run it instead of paying 200+ for a SFI plate, just wondering if others have had issues with stock plates at that power level, if not I will order one right now

Need to acquire a 2 bar MAP sensor for my low boost setup on my S10. I assume the link below is a knockoff sensor rather than the typical AC Delco one everyone runs (12615136). Anyone ever run these ebay versions with success?

i use this map all the time, i would recommend if you are going to boost, might as well get the 3 bar even if you are only doing 14psi, youll have the room to grow down the road...

Is your tune already setup for 2-bar MAP? If not, just run the 3-bar from efisource.com. It's been statistically reliable in a lot of builds, including my own. And it's got a great price.
