Can't say enough about the knowledge that you have provided. Basically a 5 step process. Lol

1) Find suitable car
2) Acquire engine
3) Open this thread
4) Pull out credit card
5) Assemble

Denmah quick question. When you use the VSR 77/83 and 88/83 can you use the same s400 T4 4.62" Downpipe flange? Have you ever interchanged a T4 s400 and VSR 77/83?

Viren says it will work but Downpipe will need to be modified, not sure what he means by that

They are not the same. I believe the 77/83 and the 88/83 us the PT88 style 4-3/8" flange.

alper motorsports offers cheap studs. They doubled in price from when i bought mine from them but i have had no issues. 129 bucks on their website under ls accessories.

Are the alpers better quality then the speed engineering/pro comp? Or same product different label? I've read some bad issues with them, not sure if I should just go with arp bolts over a gamble on all the parts being machined correctly on the others lol

at this point in the game i would say head studs are a total waste of money unless you are pushing water every single pass, at that point i would check deck and get ARP's

i have tuned a few 800+whp cars on stock re-used head bolts and stock re used head gaskets etc etc etc

if the motor is sealed just dont touch it

Denmah, what's your take on the new billet wheel VS Racing 78/75? I'm thinking about this turbo for my winter build. 346ci, SBE, LS6 intake, custom cam, M6, truck manifolds, custom fabed setup, etc. Not sure if I'll use my current AI Dart/RHS CNC'd heads or run 317's. Looking to make 700 rwhp.

If the billet version flows even a couple more lbs of air then the cast version then it'll be a solid competitor to the 7675CEA. Comparing my 7675CEA to the cast 7875 at equal boost level and timing the fuel usage numbers are fairly close reflecting much the same as shown in the back to back dyno test revealed in another thread. 700whp will be a walk in the park!
