Talking Boost comments

Im just starting my first boost build so comments suggestions would be greatly appreciated! i wanted to see how far i could get with this junk yard motor, its a 6.0 LQ4 that im putting in my 99 TA. I upgraded the oil pump to the one from TSP and im thinking of ordering the boost cam kit from brute speed, iv heard nothing but good news from it. Theres also a turbo kit that i came across but cant find anything on it http://www.solidtechperformance.com/...roducts_id=104
it seems legit. anybody heard of it or is running it?

Have you looked at any of the other kits like the Huron or on 3 performance kits? Plenty of people talked about those and some have run them as well and might have some more insight on them. I'm doing my first turbo build also but on a very tight budget and buying piece by piece and building my own. Good luck w your build,

I was able to run 650whp (15psi & 17* timing & 10.8afr) all year with all stock lq4 (rod bolts and re-gap 0.030" stock ring) but I ran race fuel and w2a intercooler. I love the stage 2 kit from Snow. If you can run an intercooler, do it for an extra cushion. 91/Alky/intercooler will def support your goal and will live with a good tune. Do you know what yr the LQ4 is? '03 and newer have the stronger rods in them (with a good tune, rods will be the weak link). 740whp is what bent 3 of my rods, but it was in a heavy car (4050lbs race weight), which I believe does make a difference on how long these stockers live.

Good luck.

Get it togather and get a good tune on it and enjoy. You should have a long lived fun setup there in the 650whp area. Good luck.
