Default ptc converter brake stall?

Got me a 10in 3200 converter spec'd for my truck, got it in and it flashs to 3200 when I nail it off idle but I can brake boost clear to 4k, is this normal? Last stall I could brake boost to 4k I blew throw it up top like wasn't even there. I afraid It's going to kill me up top, what do yours brake boost/stall up to?

I have used PTC converters in four of my vehicles and they have worked great. They will brake stall pretty high. I have a 3000 stall in my 1989 TTA and it will build boost very well and it will not blow through the converter. I also have one in an LS6 Cobra Kit car and it worked great for a 3200 stall. They will seem loose when you are brake stalling but in operation I have had great success with them.

Ok thanks that's good to hear, they were vary highy recamend on this site being the reason I went with them. I have a new trans aswell so I was worried I could have a problem there aswell. 4k brake stall will work just fine on my 4.8 with the 78mm turbo, just really want it to hold up good on the big end for the street.

I've used many of PTC's converters and they are nice and loose to spool the turbo and pull like mad on the top end. I'd put it on the track and see what it does. Those guys are some of the best at building a turbo converter.

Made a 6 psi pull and got 1000rpm 2-3 shift drop, thats real good but I am only at like 500hp at that boost. Got a bad plug wire looks like so ill get that fixed and see how it does on 15 psi. So far I really like it, drives around like any 3200 stall and brake stalls real nice, and blows the 20s away anywere under 50mph now on only 6 psi (wouldnt even spin at all with stock one) so its getting the power to the tires.

I had a 3200 PTC 10'' race as well. It was definately tighter than that, but then again for your build they may have set it up differently. I could stall mine up to about 3100-3200 before I started pushing my brakes. I just left off idle and got a 1.6 pretty easy without it being broke in good on a full weight/stock suspension car with nittos. they def make a good piece. little high on there triple disc's though. I have been there since they are local to me, and they are a race bred bunch of guys.

Yeah, seems like everyone underestimates the 4.8, they are thinking all high end power and no torque but I have a cam ground for torque and turbo spool and it pulls just as hard down low as my brothers turbo 6.0 does. these trucks also have disk brakes in the back so I can hold a lot on the foot brake then a lot of cars.
