3.08 gears+tight converter+drum brakes=fail
First time to the track today- car would not build any boost off the line and is pretty lazy down low. Just pushed the frt tires when I tried to build boost at the line.
and no the car is not spinning- the 4.8 is just kinda gutless out of boost with 3.08 gears.
This is 16psi on E85
I'm happy with the MPH- car is making the donuts when boost comes in.
may try to spray first gear and see what happens- Don't think I want a trans brake and a looser converter.

I would love that- but my fear that a big stall will also be loose up top.
this is mainly a fun street car for me but its completely useless out of boost in first gear.
The converter is done by a local 1 man shop who builds race transmissions and converters and is well known in the southeast and has been doing converters for 30 years.
i think the weak 4.8 out of boost then the massive HP in boost is difficult to tune a converter.
BUT the first converter was also a dog down low and blew thru it up top.
now the restall is the same dog down low - will only foot brake to 1500-1600 and flash to 1900ish but is tight up top
if PTC can get me a converter that i can foot brake to 3500 on a 2 step and build 10+ psi of boost but not slip too much up top sign me up.
Chris at Circle D also comes highly recommended as well as Lenny at UCC.
do you have a particular contact at PTC ?

I've run ptc stuff for awhile now and they've done good and helped tremendously on my turbo cars. I have one in my fairmont behind a 6.0 with a 80mm we'll see how it works. Or you can let nitrous help you. It will help alot. But great numbers at the track that thing runs hard on the big end. Nice!

FWIW, my chevelle weighs nearly 4,000lbs and with my convertor it ran 100mph in the 1/8th. No other changes with their (PTC spec'd) convertor it ran a 118mph in the 1/8th and runs extremely well on the street.
