Default Turbo 4.8 Dyno Mule

Building a 4.8l for the dyno. Looking for some turbo ideas. Want to bulid to Twin's 462 big block for my 75 4x4, but figured i'd start with a 4.8. its a much cheaper way to learn what not to do. I have FREE dyno time because I machine alot of stuff for a local shop. Its not really free, but what the hell lets make good use of it, I think i could learn alot just watching.
Asking around i think i can use the same turbo for both app. I was thinking S472 83mm turbine t-4 w/ 1.0? Going to run stock Ls computer w/hp. Only looking to make 1000ft/lbs with the bbc. Do you think there would be a better option, want to stay with the bw's just not sure about turbine wheel size.
Thinking buy one now, run it on the 4.8 then get the other and finish the big block.

Just out of curiosity, would 80lb'ers be big enough for E85 on 16-18psi?

Looks like the 80's are going to be the limit.
Dont have the budget right now to go to 160's. Will have to upgrade for the bbc, but i have 2 sets of 80's already.
What do you guys think about running this thing on c-12 or c-16 so we can find the limits of the gt-45. With race gas is it going to need a intercooler. Remember its going on the the pump.
Anyone got some 120's or 160's for sale?

Traded my 80's for some 160's, sweet deal. Going to run on a fast classic system, should be easier to learn(tune).Turns out the 4.8 is a 5.3 ,oh well, guess we'll look for the limit on the 5.3.
Got the Hot side done
Made a down pipe for the dyno
Sent block to have decked,
Washed,cleaned all internals
got Arp head studs on the way
Should get cold side parts monday
Its all coming together.

Do you think the 5.3 will make more then the 4.8(w/ gt45)?

the 5.3 should plus it will spool a little quicker i would think. Love my boosted 5.3. what cam? that will be the big thing that decides. 75mm tb might restrict you some, but good luck. 762,8xx

Would be interesting to see a cam swap only on the engine dyno that way we could see exactly how much HP/TQ it would make. Awesome idea.
