Default Procharger kit elec fan?

Ok, now I'm reading some are having overheating issues? Please tell me this is due to FMIC or an old issue!

hook it up and if the car gets hot with it you will probably need to switch to a spal. Some have overheating issues some don't. Some use the spal fan and STILL have overheating issues and have to put a small 9" fan beside it. You will only have the issue if your in stop and go traffic on a really hot day. You will probably have to wait tell than to test it out. If your going to go FI you have to expect to work on it a little bit here and there to get it just right.

Not planning on going FI, just read there have been cooling issues and if the kit fan has what it takes?

If you're not going FI why do you care if it works well or not?

Guess I should have said Front Mounted Intercooler, sorry, drunk last night! Yes I am going Forced Induction, some have mentioned overheating issues and I am wondering if it is due to their front mounted intercooler, i'm going with the 3.5"s. Thanks, Les...

I'm not sure why you would see that much higher heat because of the FMIC? The twin intercoolers go right up to the engine bay. The radiator gets most all of it's air coming from up under the car anyway...

Maybe I'm lucky, I don't know, but I have the stock fan that comes in the kits from Procharger, and I've never had any overheating issues at all.

First off, you need to ask people what they consider overheating. I have a stock 190 degree thermostat in my car and in stop and go traffic on the hottest days of the year, with the a/c on, I never saw temps go above 205-207 degrees. That's NOT overheating. That's in the ideal range for making power and having a clean burn cycle. Look at how hot most performance engines run, it's in the 230-250 degree range. NASCAR motors routinely see over 230 degrees.

The ideal situation is hot motor and cool intake air charge.

Good point and true that any motor is more efficiant at operating temp. And that's what I'm trying to find out, some seem to switch to the Spal fan and I would like to know why? Maybe some are trying to keep things too cool? I'm so close to ordering this kit and checking any issues people may have had?

I don't have any problems with my procharger supplied fan. The hottest I see on my OBD2 gauge is 210-215* in 90* weather. Thats after running 4 gears to 7k rpm merging on the hi-way @ 140. Crusing on the hi-way or stop and go traffic it runs around 190-205*. Stock radiator and a 160* T-stat.

I am going to add a 8" fan to the top of the shroud this winter while the engine is out but probaly won't use it much.

I talked to Procharger, they said most overheating issues are due to wiring, modded or bigger engines than the stock cooling system can handle.
