yet another awesome sleeper! this car is the mutts nuts and that is a compliment! I'm intrigued as to why you used the ford coils? I was considering doing that myself, any particular reason you chose them?

Ford coils operate in wasted spark config same as the ls1 coils with microsquirt. They are cheap and pack a bunch of spark. I used them on a zz383 and mounted them behind the engine mounts to hide them. Buying 2 coils are cheaper than 8 coils.

Yeah is was purely a cost decision, I had the ford ones and no gm ones. I still have less than 5 grand in the whole car, including the cost of the car. They seem to work just fine although I do hate the wires crossing over to the opposite bank. I actually have some 5.3 coils now but don't want to redo my meagasquirt and harness so it's staying ford

Not that I can tell! I have been shifting at 6100ish but it definitely wants to keep going, just don't want to stress the bottom end for no reason. As soon as I can get a good converter I will hit the dyno.

Been playing around with the tune. I got a little too agressive with the timing and pushed a little water but took it right back out and seems to be good. Also finally got to run my drag radials on the street, much better but still spins them pretty good. I need to plot the rear links and see what I need to do to get some anti squat, I know I can hook on these 255's with some work.

Ran a pretty cool older guy tonight with a fresh 502 in his elcamino. Says he has ran a best of 12.0 @ 110. Walked him pretty good pedaling the crap out of it, all his muscle car friends rolled out with us to witness the Volvo dominate, good times. Even had to get out of it in third because it was skating pretty good. It's on 13 psi now and the intake temps top out at 175 on a cool night. Still need to get a better converter so I'm not riding the shift light so hard

I spent more on the damn drag radials than my engine, don't want to use them up doing a burnout unless it's necessary

So, finally got a new PTC converter and deep pan in the car. Everybody that preaches about getting a custom converter is absolutely correct, the car is sooooooo much nicer to drive now. I can actually feel it shift now when cruising around, before it felt like a one speed in drive. Unfortunately, this has only made the traction worse. It used to be 50/50 hook or spin on thrid gear rolls, now it spins every hit. It has also picked up a vibration that my gut tells me is an axle starting to twist, so I kinda want to take a peek before I do any more 130 mph pulls. In a couple weeks I will pull the rear for my anti-squat mods and check the axles out at the same time. I also need to run a bigger wire to my fuel pump and crank up the pressure, my injectors have been at high 90's duty cycle, need to fix that before I hurt something. The car is getting better and better though, I just hope I can get it to the track soon.

Yep, still on 12-13 pounds. I have a few thousand miles on it now. Only complaint is it will randomly let out a decent puff of oil smoke after a long pull. I might try a smaller restrictor, it honestly doesn't bother me though as long as it keeps making boost. The shaft play still feels like the day I put it on.
