Default Cam (bearing) advise needed..... JY 5.3L

SOOOOOO I tore my motor apart tonight and was planning on reassembling, but ran into this.

Mind you this is a 91k miles JY 5.3 that I am boosting and am looking for input.

The front bearing has a little copper showing, BUT the cam spun really good, truck had great oil pressure before it came out and ran really well. I am not looking to sink a bunch of machine work into this thing.

My dad is helping me on the build and is old school and says it needs to come apart. I don't want to spend a bunch of money on it, rather buy another one to be honest, but they have become hard to find with lower miles. The rod bearings look great.

I have a custom Martin spec'd Tick Performance cam to go in.

ADVISE????

Here are the pics:

First bearing. Worst of bunch and only one I can really snap a pic of.

Cam journal on first.

Rest of the journals:

I would not worry to much about the bearing, I would just knock a new set in, but I would put a new oil pump in the motor, a engine that seats alot and then crunk up and revved with out letting it warm up will wear on the bearings

Copper showing on the cam bearings is normal I've seen new engines that way.

Yup. I've used a couple of JY motors that were the same way and didn't have any issues.

I think you're fine. If people on this forum saw my #1 cam bearing they'd probably $hit. When I did a H/C swap in 2008 I realized the (now defunct) TRT Turbo who installed my previous boost cam tore the hell out of the bearing. It was bad. I "smoothed" it with steel wool, and it still had a groove in it.

Short version, 40K later (to include 170mph cruising on the German AutioBahn).... car's still running strong and has good oil pressure.
