Borg Warner S475 75/83 1.10 AR T-6 flange
basically i have a chance to pick up a Borg Warner S475 75/83 1.10 AR T-6 flange
turbo thats brand spanking new for a heavily discounted price.
this being my 1st ever turbo build and i have no experience with turbos i need to know if this is going to be in the neighborhood of what im looking for.
setup:
67 camaro - pro touring
5.3 stock bottom end
ls6 heads , slightly ported
ls6 intake
ls6 ported t/b
custom comp cam - will be determained later
trans is a 4l80 w/ stall
rear is currie 9 w/. tru track 3.25 gears
looking to have a pro touring car / setup and maybe do some road course stuff. will not be a track car but will make some passes down the 1/4 in its life time.
honestly im no where close to building the engine in this thing yet but had an offer from a guy to buy his turbo setup - that turbo + a new aeromotive for turbo fpr + braided fuel lines + aeromotive pump n filter kit all new for slightly more then the price the turbo cost from some venders.
but i want to make sure its gonna be what i need. i appreciate any advise.
thx

alot of guys are running those with great success. usually they are running the 1.32 hotside whichs tends to be a little laggy on 5.3's but good on 5.7/6.0's. the 1.10 should be fine. It will easily acheive your power goals and sounds like it will meet your demands otherwise too. street manners will be maintained since it will have to be under a good load to spool it. but when it does come on, you will know it

The S475 will definitely meet your power goals no problem and will spool quickly. Friend of mine has the S480 with the exact same turbine as you listed and has gone 5.80 @ 120 in the 1/8th with moderate boost and almost no lag. Its also on a stock bottom end 5.3 with slightly ported ls6 heads.
