Default Shell URT 105 unleaded race gas

Anyone running the shell race gases?
I know they make a URT that is 110+ but its on back order now.
I talked to a seller about the URT 105 and they said its a good replacement for octane up to 110. Its stacks up to VP MS109 and Sunoco 104 on a spect sheet well.

So anyone using this Gas in a boosted car?

I ran the 105 before and it's good ****. Better then the other unleaded gas available other than the advanced. It's about $14 a gallon but well worth it. Mix a little bit in every now and then cause we all know 93 isn't always 93.

I have run the 105 (from Justin, where I presume you would be getting it as well) and it was nice. I also ran the Sunoco GT260+ fromk him and it did quite well. I mixed both and did not run the stuff 100%.

Just remember that if you run the Sunoco 104 it's unleaded but has oxygen in it so you have to make sure you air/fuel is good. They are both great stuff.

Just another FYI when you look at fuels you have to go by the motor octane and not the research octane.

Shell 105 motor oct. 105 research oct. 115
Sunoco 104 motor oct. 99 research oct. 109

I learned that from my turbo GN days to check the motor octane of fuels. Vp c16 is just that, 117 motor octane.

Everbody has a different method of octane caluculation

My A/F ratios did not change in any noticeable way with the oxygenated Sunoco.

In FI application I don't see an oxygenated fuel being too much of an issue because you are lighting off compressed air and fuel. In a nitrous application I can see tune issues because nitrous is already bringing oxygen to the party.

Just food for thought. Like 87 said its more of an issue with a nitrous car more than FI but not everyone will have their car tuned correctly. Mine was spot on so when I ran the 104 it was no issue but that won't be the case for everyone so make sure you check.

I didn't say there would be no issue, just not much of an issue. You will see a little lean spike but nothing to be worried about.
