Default anyone build a heavier car/truck (~5,000lbs)

Just curious if anyone has done it whether it be a larger old convertible, truck, etc. How did it work out? I've been kicking the idea of building one, but not sure if it would be worth it with the amount of power that has to be made to have the thing quick. After having so many fast cars, something isnt even fun anymore unless its in the 10's

I built a 2001 1500 gmc p/u for a friend with a lq4/ s475. The thing weighed 5500lbs, was on 37s, lifted 8". We would race at the dunes, and he would whoop everyone's ***; even a jeep wrangler that had a lsa motor in it (supercharged caddy cts-v engine). the thing only made 560 rwhp on 10psi, but whooped my dmax (626 rwhp/1016tq) on the street. My dmax runs 12.5s in the 1/4 mile. I imagine with small tires, 500lbs lighter, and a few more lbs of boost, it would have no problem doing a low 11/high 10
