Default ebay gt45 turbos?

so after destroying my garrett, I am looking into replacement options. I am very close to pulling the trigger on a GT45. I have a couple of friends who run them on their cars (mkIII supra and 302 fox) and have trouble even spooling them. who has experience with them? what size is best for a 5.3? some sellers claim 600 hp, some claim 1000+ capable. any real world numbers with one of these? reliability? for the price it is very hard not to consider one

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GT45-TURBOCHARGER-TURBO-600-HP-BOOST-T4-V-BAND-1-05-A-R-92-SILVER-MESH-BLANKET-/400408710211?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d3a380c43&vxp=mtr
this looks like a good deal to me. it is the bigger wheel turbo, with a blanket for less than what most of the smaller ones are going for. my finger is itching on the buy it now button. denmah, any input here?

I've bought a couple and a couple of knock-off TiAL wastegates aswell for an LS-powered Volvo project I'm working on. Will be interesting to see how they go...

All I know is that they are good turbos. People run them a lot in their budget builds and seem to never have issues with them. Ill let the experts give their opinion.

I'm hurtin' for TiAL over that pic.... For some reason it doesn't bother me too much when Chinese wastegates are "like TiALs", but these that are obviously passing themselves off as the genuine article make me feel real bad for a top-notch American company!....

Sorry for the off topic, I just had a twinge of empathy for a second!

I don't think he lists them on his website. Try sales @ vsracing . com. I think that's it anyway... Maybe it's "viren @ vsracing"...?

already ordered one from the link above. as well as an air to water intercooler from the same company. they had the same sale going on them, so I got the turbo and intercooler for just a few dollars more than I had been planning on spending for the turbo itself. also picked up one of the EMusa 38mm wastegates. I will keep my project thread updated with how they all work out

because my billet wheel ball bearing garrett ate some debris and self-destructed. and I don't have $2k laying around to replace it. so this one will do for now until I am ready for the second one
