Default S480 on a 4.8?

So long story short A buddy of mine just wiped out a few bearing in his forged 347. we where wondering what input some of you may be able to give on putting his s480 on a 4.8 he has laying around. We where thinking the cam/ turbo combination may be to big for the 290ci monster, but really have no experience with the smaller ls motors.

Turbo specs are
S480 1.10 83mm t6

Engine is a 2002 4.8
228/230 112 cam
Ls9 Gaskets and studs

Thanks guys

Run that bitch.

Cams almost perfect.... turbo isnt too bad. Youve got the smallest turbine there is...

I bet itd run pretty good.... install the cam on a 107 or 108 icl.

Thanks man I appreciate the input. The cams been in the motor for a few years as the 4.8 was in a old hot rod he had. I'm sure he installed the cam straight up. would it be worth it to pull the motor apart and degree the cam like you say or just run it as is?

had a s472 with the same hotside on a 4.8 and ls9 cam and spooled very well even for a stick car....the 4l80 made it a lot more fun on the street. ran it to 22psi
