Default supercharger for my LS1 offroad car? why not?

I have a chance to pick up a roots style supercharger for my LS1 really cheap. The plan would be to keep it at a reasonable boost level, like 6 PSI and shoot for 500-ish HP. I was planning to do CNC’d heads + a cam, but that’s going to be more money to go that route. And because I can’t fit long-tubes, the power increase won’t be as much as many people get with those mods.

What would be any reason why I would NOT want to run it?

PROS:
Relatively easy install, bolt-on power
Instant power at any RPM level
If my engine blows, I get another junkyard engine and bolt on the supercharger
Badass sound
Supercharger will sell for what I paid for it or more when I’m done with it
don't need an intercooler (or so I'm told)

CONS:
Additional cooler required (I have room)
Additional coolant pump required (easy)
Additional fan required (I have room + easy)
More devices to fail (main downside)
Requires moving intake out of the cab and to the front, (I can make it work)

This is the exact model I would be getting:

I would say go for it since you have plenty of room and those maggies will require a water type heat exhanger.

For 6psi no intercooler would be needed. That said, an intercooler is always a good thing if done correctly.

I really cant see any reason not to go for a supercharger. That thing looks like a blast !

I has a heat exchange built into it already. Its maybe 6" wide and 12" long (rough guess). I was told that in combination with a small external cooler (like a transmission cooler) is all I need to keep it cool. If I have to run an external intercooler, I'll definitely pass.

It has a water to air heat exchanger under the blower, and in turn you need an external water rad and pump.

Small IMO is not the way to go here. The more cooling capacity you have the better, likewise with water flow.
Especially as airflow through the rad might not be as good as a regular car given the vehicle usage.

You definitely need an external heat exchanger, not a big deal at all.
