procharger pully upgrade question
Im running a standard 7.65 crank pully with a 3.85 Blower pully on a built 348 with ported 243 heads. its making 14.8 psi at 6300 rpm with d1SC front mount air to air.
How much more boost should i expect to get out of a 3.40 blower pully swap?
Im looking for a 75 to 100 hp increase after retune.. Is this realistic??

Ok, are you P1SC-1 and where are you measuring 3.85? The pulley that came with my 7 psi kit is stamped 3.4, and I measured 3.4 with a micrometer at the OD of the grooves. I have now gone to a 3.2, the smallest PC would give me for approx 9 psi at 6,500?

Is there a reason you're only spinning it to 6300? I'm guessing that since it's a built motor, with Cartek heads on it, that you've got enough valvetrain stability to run it higher. When you dyno'd it, did it lose power above 6300? I'm guessing, you could safely spin it to 7000 and pick up another half psi of boost out of it, and gain a decent amount of time at the track as well.

I think if you spun it higher, it then raises the rpm after the shift, which then raises the amount of HP you're making after the shift. Next time at the track, try raising your shifts to 6600 and see how it responds.
I wonder why you're losing power that early. Maybe a camshaft change would help.

Yes I thought the same thing about the cam. I have no idea. What's in there. I know cartek spec'd-the cam for those heads. However that was done in 2005 so I'm guessing cam choices have grown leaps and bounds since then. I swamped out the pulley today and got a smaller belt. I also picked up a set of #120 injectors and I'm going to retune it in e85. If that don't get me a 100 Hp gain then I will have to swap out the cam.
