Default turbo 6.0 build newb questions

We are building a 6.0 out of an 03 escalade and were wanting some advice on a cam and what turbo to run. First the car is a 79 trans am street car, debating on the denmah vs racing package with the 88 mm or would a b/w s480 be better? Should we run e85 or pump gas btw e85 is plentiful in my area. Injectors?? Factory pcm or??? Any help is much appreciated..

The s480 is more than enough... I would say grab some 80 or 83 lb injectors and a good twin fuel pumps for an in tank setup... im doin a stock 6.0 with a 76mm turbo with 83lb injectors... did the ls6 intake and the ebay front mount kit and should be around 600 hp to the tire on 12 to 15 lbs of boost sooo should be afun setup... the guy tuning my car said Iif I had built rods and pistons I could put around 950 down on this combo

Ok definitely leaning towards an s480 and a lil John's cam. Any advice on fuel e85 vs pump gas? Thought of non intercooled and e85 per cleaner easier install plus it's readily available here. Another question is run a factory pcm or ??? I'm clueless on what injectors to run too lol. I'm building this for a buddy my old car was a blow thru setup so I'm a virgin here.

You said you had e85 all over? Without question use it. It won't even be a debate but need more fuel so some fic 1600-1700s or some id2000s will do the trick with depending on your tank triple 340 aeromotive stealths or a magnafuel pump will do the job and make 1000+whp for when your greedy and dont want 700hp

Yes here in Nebraska/Iowa e85 is pretty easy to find/plenty of stations have it.

Dang those big injectors cost some coin! I keep coming across threads on this gt 45 80mm and sounds good but does anyone know approx hp it can support? I know the s480 is nice as I use to have one but will it lag a bit with that 1.32 ar? I just want to help get my buddy the best bang for buck turbo street car lol. Btw he's going to drive the **** out of it.

Depends what your definition of lag is. Not sure what some of the other set ups are like but if you run a true divided housing set up you won't see lag. I see 10psi around 3500 rpm 15 about 38-4000 rpm.
Those injectors are expensive yes but they are the best you can get. I'm sure he could get away with some Bosch 120 or 160s but they aren't anything compared to those above

Sounds like a bad *** build. Sorry to thread jack a bit but probably heading down the same track this fall (turbo 6.0) and I am just getting into this scene from the import scene. The stock PCM would handle this setup with no issues?

People push factory PCMs up to a 1000HP or more.

I would assume the factory pcm would be the most reliable?

Reliable and Boost arent words that go together haha But the factory pcm is great. It will be perfect for what your looking to do.

we use a 6.0 w/single 88, stock truck intake and exhaust manifolds, lowered compression to 8-1 and eagle rods....on E85 no intercooler, 160lb injectors, so don't think the 80-90 will fly...need a big fuel system(2500HP) to carry enough E85, you use about 35-40% more than gas, using magna fuel Pro-EFI pump and big lines...running mega-squirt computer..about 1000hp at this point...

You should be able to easily make 700 with injectors smaller than id2000's or 160's. I have 1000cc(95lb) injectors at 53psi base pressure they made 850hp before they were pretty much maxed out using e85.

Was that 850 whp? I was looking at those fic 1000 since I seen a few used sets. Were not trying to push this to much.
