Default Aem tru boost help

I have a 4.8 with a 76mm turbo. I'm using a 50mm emusa wastegate. I took one of the springs out. I've got a aem tru boost controller. I want to set it at 15-16 psi. What the hell do I need to do to get this thing to work. What does my waste gate crack pressure need to be at? And what does my duty cycle need to be at? Just give me a ball park or something. The car goes straight to 20-22 psi everytime.

You'll have to play with it a bit but mine is set at 49 and I have about 18 psi with a 12 psi spring in the gate. I usually set my crack pressure at around 5 psi. But some do different mine has a tendency to osculate if I set the crack pressure high.

Nothing I do makes a difference. I checked the wastegate and you can see where it has been opening because of the Blackness of it but I need to figured out how to get it down. I have no clue what size spring is in my wastegate. It didnt come with any papers saying what they were.

So your not running any pressure to the wategate? Should run a line directly to the bottom of the wastegate from the turbo that will get lowest pressure out of the spring

I have a line to the bottom of the wastegate. Do I need a line to the top? Or what goes there?

there are two ways to run the Tru boost

adding pressure to the top, and restricting pressure to the bottom of a 2 port wastgate setup.

each way uses different ports on the wastegate and solenoid supplied with the controller.

there is three boost settings on the gauge, OFF / A duty / B duty

OFF is wastegate pressure
A duty is whatever you set it to, start off with 25% and see what that gets you...

hypithetically speaking, if you have a 10lb wastegate, close to 50% should add another 5PSI and 90% should add another 10lbs.

in a perfect world.

Ok that makes some sense. I will give it a try. Thanks

set spring to lowest or zero for now, to rule out any issues with that.

i usually set it up to just restrict makes it easy one line to the bottom of the gate, and the solenoid in between, but it has to be the normally open port diagram

Id use the lightest spring you have and set the crack pressure to 3-5 psi
