Default Twin turbo ideas...

So I am bouncing around ideas of a twin turbo setup, mounting the turbos under the battery box, and the fuse box area. I am sure this has been done before, I just cant seem to find any info on it.

I am good with fabbing up all my own pipes, and fitting the down pipes ect. I am mostly interested in the return oil system, and how it was setup in similar lower mount turbo systems. I was thinking to use a scavange pump similar to STS and just tap the oil pan like normal.

BTW this would be going into a car without AIR, A/C, and cruise control

A lot of people have put them ABOVE those areas, but I have never seen them below. Good luck with it.

My idea was to try and get them out of the engine bay enough to keep temps down, and basically try something alittle different..

Thanks for your reply, hopefully we get someone how has attempted this?

I already have the turbos, and heat blankets/wraps will not be an issue, as for the melting of stuff what are you referring to?

So far the only low mount turbo setup I've found was the single setup Mighty Mouse ran, but very similar principles, with just two smaller turbos to split the load...

The fuse box area.

The twin turbo kit I was referring to was APS. They have there own manifolds and mount right off of them. Otherwise, I'd just do them in the area as mentioned before like mine:

I like what you have set up, did you route your down pipes out the passenger side? Looks similar to the Huron Speed twin kit they had posted up.

I enjoy "building" things, so buying a kit isn't in my plans.

Now with your setup, you relocated the fuse box and all to directly under where it was originally?

Also your oil setup is to drain down without a pump correct? Did you tap separate ports for the return or just Y them into a single?

Mine is an old modified ky turbo kit. The fuse box is not pictured, but it's behind the headlight in the bottom right. The downpipes are routed through the k member

I like your idea except for the pain in the *** oil scavenge requirements. Run the oil drains into a small tank and use a pump to return oil from there. Id like to see a totally smoothed engine bay with everything hidden with the turbos down low like your thinking. Could be pretty sleeperish.

Not where you want to mount them, but this is my setup. Just to give you some ideas. T4 flange, and no scavenge pump. It's similar to the APS kit. Keeps all factory accessories in stock location.

Looks nice, I like the idea, how is the starter mounted? Also if you have a build thread I'd like to watch your progress.

If you liked mightymouse's old single setup, you could duplicate the old gmr speed twin setup.

Very nice, you take a pic of the fuse box area after you relocated it? Also which turbos are those?

I havent relocated it yet, but its gonna be under the passenger/driver fender and the boxes will mount just under where they normally go. i may have to extend the passenger side of the harness a bit. I want to get everything in place first. the turbos a turbonetics 66/65's
