Default manual rack and relocated alternator

For those of you that have a manual rack and relocated the alternator to the passenger head, what did you do to route the belt back around?

I'm thinking getting a 6 ribbed idler and put it on the stock idler bracket, but I don't know if that will be enough angle for the water pump.

I'm open to ideas

This is the best picture I could find of my setup. Works great. No cooling issues and I've gone as fast as 127 in the 1/4 and no problems blowing the belt off.

Is that the tensioner with a smooth pulley?

No, it's the CBR alternator relocation which eliminates the tensioner all together. The alternator becomes your tensioner with the setup. I added another pulley to put some more tension on the belt.

I have been thinking about going to a manual rack.

What rack did you choose and how is it to drive on the street?

Thanks
Craig

When I had my car, I didn't have power steering either. I used a manual tensioner on the drivers side head with the alternator on the pass. head, and it seemed to work fine.

Do you remember what tensioner it was?

I solid mounted the alt & used the stock tensioner routed belt like Doobie52. No cooling issues either. Went 129 mph in qtr & 6800 rpm, didn't throw belt.

It's a Comp cams tensioner that looks similar to the Katech. You will probably need an assortment of washers to space it correctly but it works great. That was the only way I could see getting enough belt wrap. I wouldn't trust having the water pump run like the ones above.
