Default Intercoolers

I have a CXracing 24x12" core intercooler and was looking into a Bell unit with the same size core (center outlets). For the price (1000+) do you think its that much better than my current cooler? IATs run in the 180s on a not to hot day (75*) by the end of the quarter so I'm looking to bring them down.

How much power?
I run a CX 24x12x4 but made new end tanks. Mounted out front with a ton of airflow but with my 1000+rwhp we run meth too. So the intercooler takes a good amount of heat out. End of a run my intake is 90 degree's.

they may drop but i dont know if the amount of drop in iat's you get would justify spending that kinda money. there was a thread on here not too long ago, big discussion on intercoolers, might want to search for it. alot of good info in there.

Just add a meth kit and save yourself $700 or so. If you want to change, I would go ahead and go to water/ air intercooler. You can buy a CX Racing water to air intercooler, waterpump and radiator for about $500 total.

I'm looking for 750-800rwhp when alls said and done with my 403/F1a pushing 13 to 15psi. I have a AIS trunk mount meth kit but I figured the intercooler would help. I had two #7 nozzles and the temp only dropped 10* or so. That was with a 50/50 mix BTW.

The water/air cooler would be more efficient, drop the temps more and cost half the price. Jmo

I run a cx 24 12 4 ic. I was seeing 150 by the end of the quarter. With a single m15 nozzle 12 inches from the iat i was at 79 at the end.

We have a few cars built like that and the temps are not as high as yours.
Is the bypass valve before the cooler? This will help heat soak.

I have a build thread going on in this section. Go to it and read the last 3 pages or so. Lots of good info on the Bell intercooler I had made. FYI.....go Bell intercooler, vertical style. End of story.

403 + F1 doesnt equal 750whp... Seems like a ton of overkill. You could make that with a Ysi or even a D1. Id say its a waste if thats all you are trying to make.

Its after the intercooler. I may run a three nozzle kit that AIS spec'ed out for me which includes a "large" nozzle (thier words) before the Procharger.

I'm just guess-ta-mating on the low end when it comes to the power numbers. Its pullied to max out at 7000ish rpms but I shift at 6600 so I believe that the numbers should be greater. But if not 750/800 will be acceptable lol.
