Went to indy for the shootout, entered in true street once again and felt real good about wining the elusive LSx block, but then that damn crusty nova showed up and took it away from me. I finished 2nd overall. But still had a great time. Congrats to crusy and crew, you guys did an awesome job.
Ran some awesome times on fri and sat.
setup is:
stock 5.3
ported 243 heads
ls2 intake
twin 66's
no intercooler or meth
3,2?? lbs
Im tired of trying to go for the 1/4 record the hard way. Got some ideas in mind. But Im pretty stoked that a .39 isnt that far away.

He had a 8.63 avg
mine was 8.76
those times i posted were from fri and sat morn. The track was working good in the am, and went away some in the afternoon. I toned down the hit in hopes that everyone would blow the tires off and I wouldnt, I dont know what the outcome would have been if I left it set on kill. The track seemed to be there

By the time it got into the engine yes. Over 250* on the passes above.
over 300* on the 3rd true street run. couldnt measure the actual max temp because the sensor maxed out.
single digit timing and crazy hot IAT's prob arnt the best scenario for making fast runs. Plans are in the works for fixing that this winter

So how are you doing this without an inter cooler and still making that much power and running the et's you are? From what I've been seeing, the cars that are not running an inter cooler are spraying meth. A turbo build is in my future and I really love the idea of not running an inter cooler.

Keeping the front end down, and reducing the iats should help out with both the 60ft and mph. That's the plan for winter mods.

sorry for all the questions but was thinking about pulling the 5.3 for the new twin 62 set up but after reading this i dont know if i need to build the big engine yet
