Default 1500HP E85 Fuel System Daily Driver

Long story short, I had a whole fuel system on it's way to me(AUS). The shipping agent opened the pallets and separated my boxed items to ship them cheaper without my knowledge.. And now i'm down around $3500 in fuel system/random parts. I'm getting $2000 out of them and running because i've read enough threads on the bullet to know that I actually had **** all chance of getting anything! Even with 'insurance'..

I 'had' an Aeromotive belt drive setup. Mandrel driven. FIC2200's. Aeromotive boost reg. Now that I have the chance, i'm reconsidering...

My setup is a 398ci. 2x 72mm Turbonetics. T56. 67 Nova. Treadstone A2A for now.. I want to make 1000 to the tyre. So around 1300 at the motor AT THE MOST. It's still an LQ9 block.

This car will be all purpose. Driven to work a few times a week. Driven hard on weekends. Raced on race day. Driven on road trips from 6-18 hours depending on destination. I want a fuel system capable of NOT cooking the fuel.

Sumped 80L cell with 2x 8AN feeds is all I have at the moment. I will be running a flex fuel sensor in a split return line.

I want the injectors to be 100% ok with E85 & standard GM ECU. Holley hi-ram rails. 75% of the time this car will be on 98 pump fuel.

Fuel pump - Weldon? Aeromotive? Magnaflow?
Electric with controller? Belt driven off motor? Cable driven down near cell?

I'll get a reg to suit whatever pump I end up with.
Filter will be a FST flowmax 500.

I don't think there's anything I missed. Mike @ AES is looking after me on the items. But I want to get the opinion of others on here as to what works, what you guys have and what doesn't work.

Here's a picture of the motor with the cute little turbos. Cause everyone likes pictures.

And the shitbox it's going in.

Thanks in advance
Jeremy

I'm running twin Walbro 267's intank and I personally talked to the engineers at Walbro about me going to 1300rwhp and they said its fine all the numbers add up. I might have an issue with getting the fuel there and might need to step up to an 10an vs 8an but the pumps flow enough. Also talked to Kennebell and if needed I could throw one of those on there.

I would stick with the Belt Drive... Add a small surge tank with an internal Walbro to pump fuel into it.

Close to my setup I have a twin 76mm 408, I run 3 bosch 044 pumps, 10an feed line, siemen 212lb injectors on e85 or e98. Run one pump all the time, others come in with boost, no issues, car gets driven a lot of miles.

have you looked into the twin walbro 450s? 2 of em are supposed to be good for 1200whp on E85.

I was going to stay away from electric. Purely due to the fact I don't want a pump to die on me on a long trip. Or cook the fuel. And I won't have to worry about voltage drop, etc.

The closest track is 2 hours away. The closest decent track is 9 hours away. I plan to drive there.

Ok right on. Are you gonna run those 2200cc injectors and see how they do on E85?

Well that's what I had ordered... But now I can change. If I wasn't running stock ecu i'd probably go a new set of Morans. But they're also a big wait..

What injectors are you running? FIC's?

We run triple walbro 450's on our GTR fuel systems on E85 and they are good to around 1350wheel before running out of fuel. This is with our 12 injector setup that has 6 2200's on the bottom rails and 6 ID1300's on the top rail. At what you are shooting for, i wouldnt run less than 3 of the 400 series pumps to meet your goal. As for the Bosch 044's, you can run higher pressure, but they flow less than the 400's do. we max out 4 of them at 1600whp where as we maxed 4 of the 400's at a little over 1700whp.

I have FIC2000s. They seem to be hit and miss with E85. Even the morans you apparently have to flush before letting them sit awhile. Ill run a low z injector if these gunk up like some people have experienced. Did you see my thread on FIC 2000s and CNG injectors? Here it is. Lots of good info..

Hmm, around $380 for the driver box. And a few people have had issues. It'd be the same risk as using the FIC's I think. I'd imagine not using E85 all the time would help. Honestly it'll be daily driven on regular pump 98. All the lines will be PTFE. The filter is one of the best you can buy. I might be right with them.

Now to sort out the pump...

the walbros will support 1800 on corn with enough pressure and voltage. you can run 20 volts to them. and crank the **** out of the pressure and they....just.....dont..... die.... lolol.

See I don't wanna be relying on voltage. It's an old car and i've got a lot of electrical stuff going in like AC, power windows, central locking, sound system, etc etc etc.

From what I can gather, a belt/cable driven setup is cheaper than an electric pump setup with controller.

Still unsure on injectors too.... It will be on pump 98 90% of the time. Or a mix of E85 & pump so i shouldn't have any issues with the FIC's.

Connection if ya wanna save money on good injectors lol. If its pump 98, or a mixture I think the FICs would be ok I would think.

I would stick with the belt drive. If I could go back I would have done a belt drive right from the get go.
