I think it is the car itself. if it is a full frame car with rubber isolating it from the body it is not real bad but if it is a car like a camaro with a cage and solid subframe mounts they rattle and vibrate and drive you crazy. but if you run loud bullet mufflers you will never know the difference.

I've never had a solid mount car either.
One thing pretty easy to do is weld up the stock rubber mounts to make them solid.
All my parts will be here thurs, so I will be able to install it by Sat. I will need to pick up bellhousing bolts and slightly enlarge the bolt holes in the Ultrabell. And check the flexplate holes for the converter. I've made that mistake before!

By the way. Ron I ordered a set of Pro Street Gears 3.73. I should have them swapped out within the next week or so. As long as the car responds well to the new gears I will ship the 3.42's to you.

Or build the combo to rev a few hundred rpm more, and keep running 3.73?
My setup would be happiest with 3.90's but I've only got 3.54's right now. It really sucks the life out of the 60' being geared too tall with a stick shift, but I'm sure the same applies to an auto combo

We installed the engine today. It literally fell in place.
I used the hooker stock location plates. So the trans didn't move. Used the motor mounts from the big block. Also used the big block frame stands that shift the engine 1/2" to the pass side.
I have 1" clearance from the firewall to the pass head.
Here are some photos of the install.
Drivers side manifold fits easy. But need to put the PS/Alt bracket on and recheck the fit.
Pass side LS4 manifold hits the Xmember, need to work it some more, possibly heat and clearance the frame there.
Now the fun begins!
The helper is my son Scott.
