Default another ebay turbo thread.

I got a friend who jumped the gun and bought on of these kits without doing the research and now is committed to it. is there anybody who's used these kits and had good luck out of them. what did you do for the heat issues around the power steering hoses? did you use a tubular k member? what size injectors did you use? last one what kind of power did you make? thanks for any help

25% or more of all threads in this section are people using eBay turbos. None of this information is hard to find.

For heat issues use wraps. Either on the hot side piping or power steering hoses.

Tubular K member is often only needed for hood clearance. As far as piping goes, if the kit doesn't say it needs it, don't worry about it.

80 lb injectors are cheap and common. They will supply more than enough fuel for what most people will need.

People have made anywhere from 400whp to 700+ depending on which kit, which turbo(s)... etc.

I see them as a decent starting point it's gets you all the parts for pretty cheap. They work decently but it still be worth upgrading down the road if your going to be pushing ur car

Considering that people have made 800+ whp with bone stock heads and a budget turbo setup, I'd say your friend would be making the better decision.

I'm not saying he's wrong,i'd just build the motor first so I would get the most out of the turbo I could.

What?

Turbo K will help with clearance on the pipes because it is more than tight with the stock one. A turbo K would also allow you to remake the Downpipe if it is the one most people get. because the horrible bends to it hurt performance and make the DS around the steering a bitch to work on.

A pair of cheap eBay turbos will make enough power to blow apart a stock bottom end without ever touching the heads. When it comes to forced induction, things that were normally of utmost importance are put on the back burner, since enormous power can be made without them.

A Borg S475 is a large turbo. Fitment is an issue. A GT45 can be had for less than 300 bucks and has been pushed to over 600whp. An On3 76mm should be able to put out similar numbers to the GT45 and is yet even smaller.
