Default Torque gains with adding length of pipe in between the edelbrock proflo intake and TB

When i purchased my edelbrock intake, i read something in the paperwork that it came with about tq gains if a large tube was installed on the inlet of the intake. I was wondering today that if a length of tube was installed in between the intake inlet and throttlebody, would that kind of make the runners longer in theory, and produce more low end tq on off boost situations?

I've heard of this being done, but the gains are almost negligible. A few ft-lbs probably isn't going to be noticeable.
