Default Intercooler questions

Working on my 68 f100 with a 6.0 s475 t6 frame conversion and trying to come up with an intercooler.

I have an ebay 31x12x4 but there is just not enough room in the truck to mount it.

I dont have room between the grille and core support to fit an intercooer up front so I am trying to come up with a solution that is not $1000.00 custom unit.

Anyone ever use a factory diesel intercooler on a swap? 2000 and up powerstroke intercoolers fit well in these early trucks from what I understand and have measured.

Am I crazy here in thinking that it would be ok?

Planning on meth injection as well.

Ford intercooler is big, 3" core, 30"x20" or so core. 3" inlet and outlet in the right location.

Thoughts?

I don't see why it wouldn't work, probably more efficient than the Ebay intercoolers
