Default Anyone else have agreed value insurance?

A while back when the car was cam only, ect.....I was driving in a nearby town to go pick up a part, and was almost hit by a high school bimbo who was texting and failed to yield at a sign.

She didn't hit me......fortunately, however I started thinking about what would happen if i put 5 digits into this car to try and hit 8's and then someone did actually hit me. I would just lose that money basically.

I called a few places like Hagerty and Grundy, and decided to stick with Grundy.

So far for an agreed value of $60,000 dollars my yearly cost is $844.00 with me having just turned 25. I understand if it gets wrecked at the track or damaged while sitting outside the garage that its not covered.

Want to know if anyone else is doing this or has experience with it. Thinks the price is too low or too high ect....

I went through my ins co. on my chevelle, full coverage, $25000 right now, $24 a mth. It's covered no matter what. Of course being 25 may affect the price along with driving record.

Yes do it, otherwise you will get next to nothing. I though would put the limits lower, 60k is a bit aggresive and your payment will come down. Add just a few k over what you have in it and that is your #. I have 13k worth of insurance (100k mile car) for $205 A year. My car is nice to me but I could never get near 13k. Hope it helps.

These are collector car policies so typically you need to have the vehicle garaged and it cannot be your main form of transportation. You cannot use it for work either and with my policy, it cannot be driven more than 3k miles per year. There is a whole laundry list of things to go along with the above, but they're great policies for a specialty/hobby vehicle that is mostly garaged and driven on weekends.

I went with Heacock Classic.

I went with hagerty myself after seeing several posts in forums like this where other companies like listed above did not pay. A friend of mine has hagerty was out 2 years ago in his frame off rebuilt 69 Camaro. A freaking dump truck rearended him. Totally ruined the car. But he got a $29000 check and the car was fixed with no grief from hagerty.

Will any of these insurance companies let you race and be covered? Also does somebody come out and appraise the car?

I know a lot of these companies have a horse power clause too....

Hagerty told me on my 71' Vette I could not increase the HP over 40hp over stock.... I have agreed value at $50k with the free towing/road side and its $585 a year.

I don't care much for their laundry list of restrictions though...

On my Z06 I still just have regular insurance but would like to get an agreed amount... But since the majority of my money is tied up in the drive train, I know they won't cover it..... I'd insure it for ATLEAST $60k....... I don't want as many driving restrictions on this one... They told me I couldn't even drive it to the grocery store...

I have Grundy insurance at an agreed upon value of $25k and pay $440 a year. This is in Michigan which has a ridiculous premium for the Michigan catastrophic fund, which was an extra $175 to my policy. I'm 28 myself and I've had the insurance for a few years. I think the paperwork states a mileage limit, but I was told it was not enforced and it was over 5k a year anyways, which I don't get close to. Obviously no coverage at the track/racing and it cannot be a daily driver or something you use to run errands/commute in frequently. But it is perfect for the weekend warrior/sunny day cruiser, which is when I drive my car.
