Default Question about smashed plug

So this is a built 6.0, forged dish pistons small cam with stock 243's with a f1d at 14 psi. I know its not ideal setup but the plan was to do heads and cam very soon. Looks like may be sooner than later.
Can anyone give me an idea of what could cause this?

My best guess is the porcelain on the plug cracked off and came up and smashed the electrode. Any ideas? The wideband was spot on according to my buddy.
Thanks

Man that is no good. Those are forged aftermarket pistons too right? Have any idea what caused that. Ring gap? Lean? I am just looking for some explination of what might cause somthing like this. It a new motor less than 300 miles on it.
Thank for reply I think. Lol

Do a compression test. Thatll tell you pretty quick if something broke.

Detonation will do that, compression test and leak down time.

Mine in the above picture are stock LY6 pistons. I'd ran up to 16psi or so and no problems in the past, about 3000 miles on this setup beating it up alot. I got a bad tank of gas evidently and at 10psi/17* timing it took out 5 pistons. REALLY bad gas is the only thing I can think of for mine, my air temps were 80* and afr was 11.0.

Forged pistons arent indestructible.

They'll break just as easy with bad tuning as any piston.

More details needed, and you need to do a compression test. But it probably wont be good news. Unless you're running with no filter, and there is a chance somehow that debris in the chamber caused it

Although it is a little odd for detonation, for the electrode etc to actually still be there. Usually it falls off.

Ok so I just did a leak down test on all the passenger cylinders and they were all low, but the number 5 that the plug came out of is done (80% leak down). The rest were all at about 50%.
This would answer why we were having issues with alot of blow-by that was pressurising the crankcase. This was before the plug had taken an exit.
Is It possible that the rings have not completly sealed yet with such low mileage causing low pressure in all cyliders? It also says to warm the motor to temp which i didnt do for obvious reasons. Could it be because there forged and grow alot when the heat up.
Thanks for any info I feel sick to my stomach cause my buddy has had nothing but problems with this thing. Guess thats what happens with high horsepower.

Rings these days normally seal up pretty quickly. You would see better sealing with a warmed up engine, you'll know more though when you get it apart. Bob
