Default 370,390,402-408?

Ok i am wonder is there any advantage of going with a 402 over the smaller cubic inch motors? I come from the mod motor world(so i know what power small motors can handle and put down) and have built a few 427s n/a nitrous motors in my vettes..

But my problem is i have a callies 4in crank with callies 6.125 hbeam rods i got a killer deal on. I need to find a block so i can have pistons ordered. So since the prices for a junk yard block is about the same 5.3-6.0 block and since i still have to order pistons and do machine work anyway which setup is best for a nice street car.

I already have my turbo BW s480 with billet 88mm wheel and 100mm turbine T6. Was planning on doing a 402, 243s or ported 317s(whatever i can find a deal on.this is a kinda budget build with hunting for the best parts i feel fit my combo perfect), eddy vic jr,sheet metal elbow,90mm tb(already have this also), mid compression motor 10:1-10:5, th400,pump gas and c16 motor. doing a swap in my 02 mustang gt. But i keep going back and forth with the motor.I know the same power can be had but is the extra bore worth it? I want a nice relable setup. I am building this as the companys like advertising car. True Forged Wheels.

So will be busting *** on the street and goal is to run some easy 8s at the track.

Thanks for the help and let me know if you have any suggestions im all ears!!!! since im still searching and thinking about what parts i want to go with.

What are your HP goals? Im having a 370 built to keep the stock stroke. I see 402/08's all the time in the classifieds, says a lot if you ask me. 10.5:1 FI on pump gas? sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. I don't know much as Im just getting my feet wet but that high of compression warrants E85..

My twin turbo 370ci will have 9.0:1 and im running pump gas.

9:0 is to low to me. my compression is fine im not going to be running 20 lbs on pump gas.. stock ls motors are in the 10:1-9:7 range and they take to boost great. Car may have a alky kit on it havent decided yet want to get it together first. High boost will be on c16 which i have 55gl drum of sitting in the garage.

I have no hp goal. for some reason i never base any build off a hp goal just how i want it to run, what i want to hang with on the street, etc. But based off my parts i figure it would do 1000rwhp plus thru the th400. Also sending my intake to nitrous express for a spray bay in it..

How many times have you missed the word c16? On high boost. And of course they spray will be on c16 also. You really are a noobie at this arent you😀.

I'd do an iron 408ci setup.

They'd all work good for your goals and setup. I had a 408 for years and loved it. but I've had friends with turbo 370's and they have run just as fast as my 408. I always say they're no replacement for displacement though . Goodluck with your decision
