Default New Build TT LQ4 for 78 Malibu

New to this forum and new to building LS engines. What better way than to start with a Twin Turbo build. This will be going in a 78 Malibu, built to drive daily.

LQ4 (317 heads)
Turbonetics 66/62
Hi-ram
Cam--? I will need someone to spec one for me(im ready to order), (im picky about drivability and spool time)

Stock Ecu - I have efi Live but will need help tuning this(anyone have a base tune for purcase?), my experience has been with the BS3 only.

Trans is a 4l80

fabrication is coming along, just finished with the coil mounts.

Any feedback is appriciated...

Wow, very nice set up.
And welcome from another Wa. State member (dry side).
Martin @ Tick Performance is probably your guy to contact for a custom cam.

No room to fit that engine in the 67-68 camaro in the back ground ? J/K

L8R,
Stu

Its a slow expensive project... the list of parts to order never gets small. Plan on getting the cam, bov, wastegates and exhaust by Christmas...$$$

I would highly recommend Holley Efi, the Dominator if you want transmission controls and a LOT of inputs for logging. By the time you add everything you really should have for a turbo engine the Holley is less expensive and you can tune it yourself, even if you have no tuning experience now. You are going to want/need to tune it yourself.

This is also another money, time and space saving option for you

It's wet around here but there are some fast cars in this area. I typically am working on a 10.5 car so it will be a learning curve to get the G-body to hook on the street, if that's even possible.

Nice start. I like the simple hot side. I gotta ask why you you added the v-band connections between the manifolds and turbo flange... almost looks like you could've just left those out.

I could have left the v-band out but I wanted to retain some mount flexibility if I ever decided to put this setup in a different car. with all the time it takes to weld manifolds up I also have the ability now to just change the elbow to go to a t4 flange.

Send stock48 a pm about the cam. He's the magic man who holds a bunch of records people can't touch. That's your guy for high power stuff
