Default 79' Fairmont 5.3L S480

Killing time at work, so ill make a build thread. I attempted to do this combo with a 87' notch 3-4 years ago, but gave up and sold everything. This time around, its with a rusty 4 door, and im not paying attention to paint details.

I picked up a 79' 4 door with 28k miles for $300. Car has sat in a garage since 94' but the roof was falling apart. Car isnt in the best of shape, bottom of the doors are rotted, and its got dents... But who cares. Its a beater.

Front suspension got a team z k memeber and arms, upr coil overs, lakewood struts. Rear got upr double adjustable control arms, stock gt springs, and part store special shocks. Rear end got moser 33 spine spool and axles, c clip elim, 3.27 gears blah blah

Buddy hooked me up with a 04' 5.3 for $300. I had a tsp 220/220 cam kicking around, and some ls6 springs. Their currently still installed but im probably going to have lil jon spec me a cam and swap the springs.

Heres where im at. Turbo is a S480 96mm 1.32 (mock up turbo... havent decided if i could buy the same or a 476). Trans and fuel system are still undecided.

Thank you sir. Your original 4 door got me into these things. I had a 2 door box top I used for a winter beater when I was building my notch.. Should have kept the ******. Any idea what these 4 doors weigh roughly?

I'm hoping so lol. 400 with a brake for sure. I have a 3800 nitrous converter new in the box. I'll probably run it and see how it does

Thank you. It's a older Hobart 140 I believe. Had it about 8 years now. I'll double check the next time I'm at my garage.

Started working on the intercooler pipes. We don't have a tig, so I choose to use exhaust pipe just to make it easier. After everything is finished, it will all be coated.

Also started welding in the subframe connectors and outriggers. My only question is on the outriggers. We welded plates to the rocker, which the 2x3 is welded too... but the way it is, only leaves 2 edges of the 2x3 to be welded to the plate. I can cut the floor on the bottom and weld the bottom edge, which Im thinking im going to have to regardless. but im not sure?
