Default Wastegate solenoids for high Hz

i need to find a wg solenoid that can operate easy at 300+hz

i've seen the GM solenloids handle it

but it doesnt specifically claim high hz tolerance

gm 1997152

thats what im leaning towards.... any input guys?

Sheldon/Robbie if you guys could chime in pls

I work on BMW's and they use wastegate solenoids around 500hz. You could pull a set off any N54 or N55 engine. BMW calls them EPDW's. Vacuum in, vacuum out and a ev style connector that you can pulse width modulate. Hope this is what your looking for.

I would have to ask why ?

Most boost control solenoids operate in the 10-20Hz range.

its just what we need. Its for a big single turbo conversion N54.
Stock soleniods are a no go. Mac isnt up to it either.

Single, twins, really shouldnt make any odds.

What is the actual problem you think a 300Hz solenoid will resolve ?

Too slow to do what though ? The solenoid and airflow through it is never static anyway once it is being pulsed

What is the actual problem ?

Ask on this forum...but not sure you'll get any different answers.

It's a forum where there are people with vast amounts of tuning experience across many platforms. And who don't have closed minds.

I have never heard of any boost control solenoid that operates at that frequency.....but then I've never known any vehicle to have any boost problems that were down to the abilities of a Mac solenoid or similar valve.

Usually problems are down to plumbing. Or user problems with software to control the valve. Not the valve itself.

@FourG6397GST

tell your "guy" that he doesnt know what he is doing and he is doing it teh wrong way...

I dont know all the details of his situation...but I assure you that the problem is not the solenoid...it is the controller or controller settings...

thousand of guys running an AMS-1000 on a Humprhey solenoid that runs around 20Hz controlling 40-50 lbs of boost with no issues...
the key is to have a good pressure source for the solenoid and a good controller.

if he really "needs" a solenoid that operates at 300hz... tell him to use google...you can pull up industrial ones that will do it.
