I have another question for everyone. What would be a good set of valve springs for this thing. I have been looking but not sure what to get or where to get them. Thanks

Brian Tooley racing. Very nice springs for the money! Give him a call and he will set you up with what you need.

I made an elbow the for car today. Don't think it turned out too bad. I don't have a tig welder so it is all done with my spool gun.

A few other things that are waiting to get installed.
Exhaust 3"

3"x14" bullet mufflers

A box of 2.5" and a box of 3" aluminum tubing bends and couplers.

I also have the intercooler but forgot to take a pic of it.
I ordered a set of ls7 lifters and some PAC 1218 valve springs today. Along with an ls3 valley cover.

I switched the front end over to the 72 style today. What do you think?

This is a cool project. I'm a big fan on the long-roof cars (I guess this still qualifies, haha). Keep the pics coming.

I have a little time and have done a few things to the car in the last couple days. I got the radiator mounted.

I also got got the front hood supports and fender braces done. I also got the engine moved back and a new ls3 water pump, tensioner, and balancer installed to allow a little more room up front. I will l get some pics of this nest time I am in the shop.
I also got the driver side exhaust almost done. I have to put in a flex joint and tie the wastegate dump into the down pipe but here it is so far.

Thank you for looking.

Really looking forward to watching this build progress. I had a 1976 Vega Wagon for awhile that I was going to build, but then bought a 1972 Vega that is still sitting and waiting at my parents house. One day it will get a ls/turbo setup.

One day.

Give me the inspiration lol

Did you do that aluminum welding using a DC spool gun? Ive been wanting to do get a spool gun for my thermal arc 181i but it doesn't operate on AC

Awesome build so far. I wouldn't bother priming it! I love the Frankenstein look. Gives it a rat rod feel. It's all about what's underneath. Keep up the good work

I have been doing the aluminum with a dc spool gun. It seems to work pretty well. Just have to make sure everything is really clean.

How does it do on thin aluminum like .065 intercooler piping? 100% argon?

It does pretty good, if the gap is kept really tight. If you gets gap it makes a really big hole in a hurry. It is not as pretty as a tig but will do the job well.
