Default turbo manifold

Sorry if this has already been talked about but I searched and didn’t see anything on it. My question is there a distinct benefit on running a custom set of steel manifold(s) vs the reversed truck manifolds. Reason I ask is because I was looking at a set of customs ones but they’re going to run me $1600-2200 vs having the truck ones cut and welded (sure I can get it done for $400). Or is it just a cosmetic thing that looks nice.

Tubular manifolds can see benefits, but a lot will depend on your goals.

Plus most tubular manifolds will restrict plug access. Maybe a small point, but I'd hate to have to change plugs on some of them !! That would be enough to sway me from some designs.

Here's a thread asking about some shorties.

just use truck manifolds or use the hooker smooth looking manifolds like I did. you will be fine. I seen a Camaro make 1279 whp with manifolds. if I can find my camera ill post the vid.

I had tubular manifolds and and kept burning plug boots. It was a PITA to deal with as there wasn't any room. I switched to truck manifolds and.
