Default ls1 twin turbo and a/c ???

so i was just looking around and i have noticed that most everybody who runs twins does not have ac in their car, Im planning on doing an ls1 iron block twin turbo setup in my bmw e39 and i want to have a/c in the car also. is this even a viable option ot have with all that will be going on under the hood ??

thanks

I built this turbo kit in an 06 GTO and kept a/c. It was a pain in the ***, ran hotter than we liked with the a/c on, and ultimately took it out. If you really want it, prepare to use a monster radiator and plan EVERYTHING out before you build anything. Air is pretty hot by the time it goes through an intercooler, ac condensor, and radiator.

Mine has twins with stock radiator and stock untouched a/c. It runs the same water temp when it's 105° with the a/c on as it does when it's 40° out. Something that mine has that too many people don't want to mess with is an A2W intercooler. This keeps that heat away from the radiator, cools the charge air better, let's the air through you need, and means you don't cut a gaping hole in the nose of the car.

And I was agreeing with you on what I quoted because it was spot on. And suggested something to help the next guy.

I'm not sure a setup that is made for an LS1 camaro would fit in your BMW. looking into your engine bay and seeing what is in the way will determine what manifold or header that will be needed.

ya i agree with you, i have been looking at the forward manifolds from obx, wondering if they are any good or if they will work, but i will wait until the motor is in the bay to determine what to use
