Default Those that removed ac, do you miss it?

I was originally planning on keeping ac with my build but after starting to mock it all up I'm considering ditching it and running with truck manifolds.

Car is a weekend warrior and this is my first time building a kit. The way I'm looking at it to keep ac and make it the way I want I'll me making all the hoses and using and aftermarket condenser. I've already stood the radiator up.

Just seeing if anyone is missing there ac that is now boosted?

Not boosted yet, but I pulled my AC during my first heads cam swap. I live in East TN, it's typically low 90s in summer with some crazy humidity. I feel fine cruising with the windows down. Wife doesn't complain either other than her hair blowing around..

No way why would you seriously?
worst decision I have ever done!
You will get better resale out of vehicle.
Just like taking a od off car.
Do you really want the women to not want to ride with you or think you are stupid for doing this for your car. They don't want to sweat.
Pay a little more and ProCharger.

I guess it all depends on where you live.

Down here 98* and 100% humidity = a soggy mess. I'm keeping my A/C no matter what.

You can use a c6 manifold on the passenger side and it routes the hotside pipe behind the compressor.

Personally, thats what the DD is for. If its too hot out to drive the turbo (or TT) non-ac car, then you drive the DD. Haha

I don't miss my ac in my LS1/T56 swapped car at all.

Eh… what? I doubt any of us are building these cars with resale in mind. And I'm not building this car to care about what a woman thinks about me. When you get older you'll learn this. And if you are older, you missed it.

Biggest mistake i ever did to my car was taking te a/c off. Spend a little more time and build around it if it is a street car.

Agreed.

I'm keeping A/C on my car. Although I rarely ever use it. Just the fact that its a street car I guess.

x2 ^^^ and to add too that if you stick your hand out the window and "cup it" you can direct more wind into the car.

One more for NO... I just removed the dash and got rid of the rest of the AC that was left in the car, still kept the heat. Changing passenger side plugs just became easier than the driver side.

I landed a smoking hot wife WITHOUT the AC in my car.

It's just all really in preference. Get in your dd in the Middle of summer and roll the windows down.. Can you handle it?? If not, buy a Prius.

I miss it on 90 degree days if I have to take the car out... which is rare. If I drive it in weather like that its to a car show which means ill end up parking and walking around in the heat anyways. Most of my cruising in the summertime is at nite time anyways so I decided to ditch it.
I can very easily put it back in though if I choose.

Oh and I'm allready married to a smoking hot wife so I don't need it to pick up chicks...lol

Yes I got the age but with the age I got the money I am not building a street car with no ac. My plan is to drive it to east coast and west coast. Sorry instead of taking off ac I add more power.

I do plan on a road coarse . Sugar hills run, silver cup classic, standing mile runs and a road course. I will drag race, maybe drag week, some cruises.

Yes weight is not a huge issue. 900 plus rwhp at least.

Mines out of car don't really regret it. Wife has been in my car twice in the last three years. I kept the back seats in the car until my second child was born.

Nobody around me has ac in their cars but I'm in northern wisconsin. Even my ac cars rarely use it.

Honestly my wife drives it a lot and it is a vert. Don't really worry about it. To each their own. How much are you going to gain? 1/2 to 1 hp?

It depends on the owner. If you live where the heat and humility is mild you may not miss it. Down south where me and 87silverbullet live ac is a must! From June-mid October you will sweet you ball off in the middle off the night!

For a weekend cruiser or track car I see no point in having it. Takes up way too much room and makes everything just a little more difficult IMO.

I gotta keep mine.nice to get off work after being in a shop all day then crank up the ac and have the windows up while quietly cruising down the freeway or when it rains in the pnw like it does 300 days a year so my defrost works great.really is just preferance.but I like my car to function like stock but be alot faster
