Getting ready to start my engine this week, I have a magnafuel boost referenced FPR

I want to set it at 58 psi

So I pull the boost line off of the FPR and plug the line end, leave the port on the FPR uncovered?

Start the car and adjust the screw until I reach 58 psi, I have an electric fuel pressure gauge to monitor it..

How's that sound? Any extra tips?

Thanks

It's a dual walbro setup w/ second one on a 1 psi Hobbs switch

I set mine with the engine off, pump on-once you fire it up, the vac. will pull down the FP a little, at WOT it will be back what you set it at, plus whatever the boost raises it to
you can set it running with the line off if you want, ck it against non running and see if the pres is the same

either use HPT to command the pump or jumper the relay to make it run

How is your second pump setup to come on?

Since base FP is what you will be driving around on, and you wont have the second pump on until boost, I would think you set base with the first pump.
Would be interesting though to see if the second pump adds pressure. Even if it does, you will account for that in the tune.

If turning on the second pump adds pressure then your return line is too small or restricted

setting up base pressure with 1 pump is fine

The method you have suggested is the easiest and best method. Although I prefer a mechanical gauge for their simplicity.

Yes I'll set it with the engine off to get it "close" then start it up and tweak it a hair..

Agree. I think folks discount the size of the return line. It has to flow all the fuel at low engine output. Any pressure built in it will skew the true base pressure.
