Question about a Chinese turbo
I am curious if anyone has run this turbo and how it compares to other 88mm mid frames that cost 4 times as much. Will this get me to my 700whp goal in my 370 build with room to grow? What are your opinions?

However... that turbo is way too small for your setup. And it's NOT an 88mm turbo. Just because the name is "T88" doesn't make it 88mm.
You gotta read the Specs:
- Compressor Wheel: 63.0mm/102
- Turbine Wheel: 74.5mm/84.5
It's a 63mm turbo.

If you're looking for a budget chinese turbo to get you where you want to be, get this instead, it will be a better fit for your size engine and will take you to, and surpass, your goals:
Compressor Wheel (Major/Exducer) 80/108mm
Turbine Wheel (Major/Inducer) 77.4/88.9 mm

Good luck.

I recently read an article about this. Whatever magazine it was built their own turbo system using a chinese turbo from e-bay. Cost them about 1/4 of what a name brand turbo would cost.
When completed, it performed just as well as the expensive component.
BUT... there was no testing done regarding durability. Those components are cheap to buy for a reason - they're cheap to make. You get what you pay for (if you're lucky).
Never buy cheap parts, they're too expensive.

I myself am really tossed up between the CX 80mm and the BW S475. The turbo prices are almost the same and have produced some great numbers on a 5.3. The one advantage I give BW is that they are a well known brand and I have personally used their products before and loved them....not to say I have seen any threads regarding CX turbo failure in my recent research into the V8 world.

That 80mm is probably the best bang for your buck out there.

CX makes decent stuff and stands behind it. The company is owned by a guy named Kevin in Socal. All the parts are MFG'd oversees (some China some Taiwan) to his (or his customers) specs. CX racing provides bare turbo parts to some big name brands, they have also been around quite a while. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

I am considering. I am now taking my 404 out to a 408 with aftermarket L92 heads. Custom Tick cam, 160 lb injectors, vic jr, Kinsler 4500 dominator tb, etc..
What size a/r do you think for street strip use? Bought a full tube chassis car. With the motor it had, it weighed 2174lbs.
