Default Twin T04B 5.3

Hi,

I'm new to the site, but have been reading the forums from the outside for some time. There are several similar builds, but not a lot about the specific turbo I have.

I bought the following turbo for $250 new on craigslist. I was thinking about running two of these on a junkyard 5.3 setup. Eventually the car will be a 3500-3800 lb street car with a TKO or T56 transmission. I am just buying parts when I see them for a good price.

I am thinking about 10-12 psi max boost and 6,500 rpm redline. What do you think spool/max boost rpms will be? No block yet, is a 5.3 or 6.0 a better fit?

I think they would work and spool quick.

In to see someone with a similar setup share any info. It won't put down monsterous numbers, but they should lite really fast and have torque like a roots blower... especially good for an M6 car.

Default Compressor Maps

I checked the compressor map against the consumption table from forcedinductions.com for the 5.7 and 6.0. They 6.0 was getting close to the choke line at 6,000 rpm. The 5.7 was better. I also used an online calculator (that had mixed reviews) and the 5.3 appeared to be right in the sweet spot if I use two of these turbos. A 4.8 was crossing the surge line at lower rpm (assuming it could build boost at 3,000 rpm).

My biggest concern is that the turbo is .81 ar exhaust side with what appears to be a T4 flange. I am worried about what RPM it will start building boost.

There have been a couple of twin turbo 5.3 builds in older GTOs that used similar turbos. I think that they has smalled AR and possibly T3 hosuings.
