Default Turbo LS1 Build thread/help.

Hey whats up guys. Okay so I recently rebuilt an LS1 and swapped it in my 1991 C1500, it has a cam and headers but i wanna go boost now. I know i should of gotten a 5.3 or 6.0 to boost but the max i want to boost is 10psi on this ls1 block just to have fun while i wait and build the 6.0 block. I'm kind of new to the turbo system world and I have done some research and this is what i want to go with,
Borg Warner S475 T6 1.32A/R
Tick Performance Turbo Stage 3 cam
60Lb injectors
Reversed truck manifolds
CXRacing 31x12x4 Intercooler
Piping is going to be custom built at the shop.

What else do I need, I dont know what bov/wastegate i should get? Can anyone help me with that? Is this setup good? Its backed up by a 5 speed but getting a t56 soon with 373's or ill maybe go lower to 3.42s. Feel free to give your opinions. This build is going to take a while as well since im in college but 1st i shall buy the turbo so i can keep getting motivated... Thanks guys

Stock ls1 is all you need. Mine holds 21 psi using the turbo you wanna use, Meth and pump gas through t56 and 3.42 gears. Stay lower in rpm if you still have stock head bolts. Mine pushes water above 6000 rpm. But like I said mine has never been apart but just change the cam stuff. All in the tune. I run 12-13 degrees timing. Super fat afrs too. Jgs 50mm gate and 56mm bov.

No problem. You can push them a long way. Seen some blow at 550rwhp and then you get lucky like me and making nearly 900rwhp and still going strong with 130000 miles on it lol. I've been fortunate. I have a good tuner.

You'll be fine. No need for meth either. 8psi on that turbo and your there. I made 520ish on 8psi. Turbo really doesn't put out much at low boost compared to high boost levels.

Thanks man. The combo has served me well. Hitting the track april 4th to try and play a little with some soft launches and see what I can do. I am still sporting the stock rear, torque arm, driveshaft lol. About to order my 9" soon though. Nothing has broke yet even with the slicks on.

They are crap lol. I've just been lucky. The upcoming track visit on slicks will tell. Plan on leaving them pumped up good and not heating them up to much so they will spin a little and help not break stuff.

Hey guys its been awhile since i posted on this...Still planning on the s475....picked up some 241 heads and going to send em to Advanced Induction to get worked on, so that being said its going to raise up my compression a little bit since im going to mill them. So Im only going to boost around 6-8 pounds...this is just so i can have fun while i build the 6.0 which wil take a while...Oh and will 60lb injectors do the trick??

Might as well get the 80's and not have to buy another set later.

For your goals you're wasting money getting the heads ported.

Do some research. People are putting down more power than you're looking for without even swapping the cam. Besides, porting the heads doesn't make much more power with boost.
