Default EBay turbo blankets

Are they any good? I've been looking at a few and I'm thinking of going with this one : http://www.ebay.com/itm/T4-GT35-GT37-GT40-GT45-GT47-TURBO-TURBOCHARGER-TURBINE-HEAT-WRAP-BLANKET-BLACK-/350609734599?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item51a1f7fbc7 but I wanted to get some input from those that have them.

I run one. I shields quite a bit of heat. Nothing to compare it to though. I had to cram it in there pretty roughly and just installed again to run this year. It' s holding up well.

It fiberglass and steel mesh. Unless its soaked with oil/fuel, it isn't catching fire.

You can also use SS safety wire to secure it if you don't want to mess with the springs.

Mines the same as the link Camaro9969 posted. It works great for the money. Only complaint is the rubbery coating on it is flaking off. Guess that can be expexted with the heat. It fits very well though and you can put your hand right on it even after a long drive.

Here's a pic with it.

Just FYI. The heat range on that stuff is like 160*, far from ideal for a turbo "blanket" IMO.

My shield didn't have the rubber coating, must have gotten it from a different ebay china listing. I've had great luck with BBQ grill paint on manifold wrap, blankets....etc.

I'm using one of the cheap ebay blankets, so far so good. The metal hooks meant to connect with the springs to hold it on are junk like someone said earlier. They were broke when I got the blanket. I used wire to tie it on. Fits good on the T6 S475 and really makes a difference on the heat radiation.

I also have the blanket that's posted in the original post.
I'm running twin TC66 T4 units. They are too large for these turbine housings, but they do work. the quality is good. They will definitely work better on the T6 units like some have mentioned.

Yes, the mounting hooks are complete garbage. You'll want to get creative this part.

There's no rubber coating on this blanket either not sure what he means but I wanted mine to Match my car so painted it black with the spray also it being a sealer figured it would help
I posted the wrong link sorry this is what I've used. Good for 1500. I know I've sprayed this on my blanket and exhaust wrap and its stayed on and looks great
