Default Anyone seen this happen to ATI damper?

Went out today to do a few pulls after i switched my vacuum source for the wastegates. Did 3 quick pulls. Came home and popped the hood to adjust idle screw a little and noticed my belt had walked half way off my damper, and it was wobbling. Snapped 5 of the 6 bolts off the hub.... WTF!

I snapped all of the bolts off! Hub stayed on the crank and the balance slung out from under car and skidded across the road like 50ft while i was giving some girl I was trying to impress a ride, lol.

Wasn't under warranty so I ate it unfortunately.

I would think you might have a balance issue....

That or improper torque on the bolts. Similar to ppl breaking wheel studs.

So i just did some research and found a good piece of info that i wish i would of known. In the instructions it says to use 9 bolts there are 3 others apparently that need to be on when not using the extra pulley that bolts on. I wish i would of known this.... i got the pulley from my engine builder and was told it was ready to put on. Well there ya have it people this is what happens when you dont do **** right.

Set a flat washer over the broken bolt, then weld them together. Then weld a nut to that, and spin it out. You may be able to skip the washer, but its hard to get in deep enough with the weld.
The heat from welding will loosen the loctite. And make removal easy

Drill and a easy out. Buy a quality but and screw extractor. Also hit it with some WD-40 and let it sit for awhile.

My guess is that the bolts where loose.

To the broken **** out, take it to a machine shop or weld something to it. Depending on your skill level.

Got it back together the correct way. Took a drill bit and bolt extractor and they came right out.

Also, the taper heads are to be torqued w/ a T40+ Torx, not a std Torx.

As far as the broken bolts, I w/ those thinking they were loose, to begin with.
I just checked on a recent install. We got the extra 3 cap screws in the kit. The kit did not include the a/c belt pulley.
If the shop gave you the balancer, and not the 3 cap screws, that could have been the root cause. [AIRC, all kits come w/ those bolts.]

Well I had to go get some regular hex bolts so I don't have the torx style but in the instructions it says not putting the 3 other bolts in can cause damage and when I called ati they told me the same thing. I called ati to ask if it's okay to throw the hex bolts in and they said its fine just might have a hard time taking them back out one day.
