Default Procharger build

Well having had my motor finished and all my suspension parts ready to go as well as the fuel system, I have to decided to run a Procharger. A lot of people have advised me to run a turbo, but after reading these forums, it seems like most everyone needs help with a turbo, or something isn't working right. Not too many procharger complaints other than belt slip. I am running an LS9 headed 408, forged and ARP studded and have decided to sell my T56 and new triple disc clutch and will be buying a built turbo 400. The question and advice I am looking for is which F series do you recommend? I have heard good things about the A and C. But, better things about the R and X. One gentleman said go with an F2 and don't look back. I have no AC, and no power steering and and bmr turbo k. Thanks for the advice and help.

I have a 370 f1a and like it. All my friends have turbos. I have made 783hp with a th400 and have been 9.05@151. For what blower to get it all about how much power or how fast you want to go.

So, I assume since you stated a turbo K-Member. It's going into an F-Body? What type of belt set up are you wanting to run?

Like stated above, how fast you are wanting to go is a main thing in determining blower size. If I had the room or wasn't worrying about keeping my A/C, I would be running a F1X in a heart beat or an F1R if I could find someone to swap or buy my F1A that I'm running now.

ya, body style is important, if you want a kit or piece one together
the F2 is pretty large, fitment issues-the F1 series can make huge power, seen guys run 4.9's in the 1/8
the F1 series is aprx the same size as the D1SC, but the trans is a little thicker
is it a race car, or just street-the D series is cheaper, if street use only and can make good power-all depends on your budget and power goals
I have the transplant kit in my chevelle, using a D1SC but with a cog
its a little noisy using the cog, an F1 prob would have been a better choice
with a 6.0 and LS3 heads, I have plenty of power, blows the tires off in any gear-all depends on your goals

So are you looking to sell your F1A?

It's going in a 4th gen camaro. No a/c, no power steering. Radiator core support cut and plenty of room

In that case, F1X or F2 with a cog, and call it a day. Either of those would be plenty of blower to run well into the 8s and I'm sure with enough cool air (inter cooler) with some methanol would pull 200 in a standing mile.

I'd go with Dan Schoneck's cog bracket and an F-1X. Bob

He does, but he has a badass cog bracket setup for our cars. Here's a link to guy on here that is running one. There's a link to yellowbullet in the thread with some pics of it.

Oh snap!!! That bracket looks sick!!! Since I don't have power steering or air conditioning, and I'm going to use a motor plate, fabbing up a similar that Jay Biondo has in his 66 nova. Look it up, and tell me what u think

Oh, no doubt it's a bad *** setup like that. Although not impossible, it'll be very challenging to get a big blower to fit in a 4th gen F-Body positioned and arranged like Jay has his.

You can always go this route. Post #250...

So, I've decided on the F1-X cog head unit, not the kit. What's the best price I can look at spending?
