Default Help choosing best Lq4 Turbo cam for my set up.

Stock internal Lq4, stock intake, stock 317s
Turbo Borq W s475. Truck weight 4300lb
trans th400

Comp cam recommended 235in 235ex 621 lift on a 115lsa

Texas speed recommended 227in at 614 lift 231ex at 617 lift lsa 116 +4degrees

Been reading about Tick Preformace turbo cams and seems like they are well liked. Im just curious if anyone is running anything close to this setup an how it preforms. If anyone has any first hand knowledge about any of these cams would love to hear your input Thanks.

with a heavy truck you need fast spool and good low end power. those cams might be nice cams for lighter cars but I think you are leaving power and torque on the table running any of them at 4300#. do a search for stock48 on here he ran a 4800# truck that ran 9.70s with an lq4 and a smaller cam something around 212/218 at .050.

I don't dispute those cams make big power but you don't need max hp you need max average power and good spool. jmho.

Depending on your goals the stock cam might be just fine!

What turbine side is that S475??

235/235 on a 115??? LOL thats just a little bit on the big side.

227/231 on a 116 is getting close.... but theres no friggin need to have it on that wide of a lobe seperation.... that just Kills the overlap when you dont even NEED to kill it! gah...

What rear gear is in the truck? how much converter?

I run the 232/232 cam from Livernois which would be on the big side for your configuration. I wanna say it's the Stage II cam. No need for lift over 600 with those heads.

We used a Texas Speed 224/228 112lsa with around 580 lift on a 00 4x4 extended cab. Honestly we think that that cams low end torque curve wasn't where we like it. But we haven't got a good tune in it either. While we were tuning it, we may have disintegrated the transmission.... Waiting on $$$ to build the trans to handle the hp.
My opinion for a heavier truck is to have a smaller torquier cam for off boost driving. My .02

From my experience a step small is better than a step big on a heavy rig and same goes for T4. 218 works really well in a heavy 6.0 rig.
JFR "Triple 12" cam in my truck. Sbe lq4, mild port stock valve 317 heads, cast 76mm T4 turbo. Been my daily driver since 2006. Times in sig@4800 + lbs. JFR 218/112 in the car.
