Default 1st Gen RX7 engine bay...

Thanks in advance for any advice you might have for me before I spend some money!

I have an 1984 RX7 that is getting a built 6 liter (purchased already) and a turbo set up (turbo(s) not purchased yet).

My question is about layout---in your opinions can I get twins in the engine bay and still have everything fit under the stock hood? I don't mind fabrication and am pretty creative.

I have included an older picture of the car when it had an LS1 sitting in it (not wired or plumbed). That engine was pulled to put in my 1969 C10.

I think you could fit twins if you get creative.
I would just run a bigger single though.

Going to be a sweet car!
I'm contemplating building an FB as well. Mine will be a 4.8 76mm combo however.

Might try poking around the Norotors site, plenty of good related material there.

Small twins would probably have fit better than the large S400 single I went with. I did manage to get it all under the OEM hood line.

Radiator/intercooler placement is limited as the nose isn’t very large and the headlights get in the way. Ended up gutting and glassing over the headlights. (actually bought the car this way) Then I built a headlight setup in the bumper. A lot of people seem to have cooling issues as well. Make sure you have enough core/fan.

Saw a pretty slick setup with the intake manifold flipped 180*. With the TB facing the firewall, you could run a Air/water IC setup under the dash. This would leave more room up front for turbos, hotside ,piping, radiator fans, lights, exhaust etc.

Link in my signature has my build thread...
